UKIP Agent Reports 'Mission Accomplished'

Clearly, another crude attempt to smear the legacy parties as sleazy, money-grabbing trash.

Liberalism Ate Socialism

Looks like the lefties are having another one of their endless discussions about how they can bamboozle normal people into signing up to their loony agenda.

Laban's right about one aspect of the problem, but then there's stuff like this.

I don't think that's exactly how the Good Samaritan did it.

Charidee staff with gold-plated pensions is just one aspect of the sheer weirdness of modern liberalism. How did we get to the point where soi dissant socialists demand the right to bleed the public dry so as to feather bed their pals in the public sector (actual and fake charity divisions)? The working man is paying taxes to provide the bratty meeja studies graduate daughters of the liberal elite with non-jobs as recycling coordinators and five a day officers. Isn't that pretty much what the Labour Party was set up to oppose?

Government Faces Up To The Kebab Menace

As far as this goes, three things come to mind:

i/ I'll believe it when I see it

ii/Does he mean 'closed' in the traditional sense of 'not open' or in the modern sense of 'wide open providing you keep lodging super, special, emergency appeals against deportation for the next fifty years'?

iii/ Greece? Really? This is what's finally convinced him of the need for border security? There's not much to say about Athens, but it sure beats Mogadishu.

Mind you, sleazy and self-serving though the Nu Tories may be, when it comes to stupid, you can't beat the left:
Denis MacShane, the former Labour Europe minister, was among those who criticised Mrs May when the suggestion of border controls was first raised...

“And of course, if we ban every Greek from coming into Britain, the Greeks will ban every Brit from going into Greece – that's a great start to the holiday season
... although in fairness to McShameless, it's probably difficult to distinguish between welfare tourists and the real thing when you can't even tell the diffference between an office and a garage.

New Cameron Statement: 'I Did Not Have Sex With That Horse, Miss Raisa'

Hey, why not? After a week of ever-changing stories plus his desperate desire to be seen taking on mostly mythical right-wing extremists, who'd bet against him announcing he was involved in a stable relationship?

There's the obvious point that this last week of farce proves yet again that, no, The Dave is not a political genius, but it also exposes another myth. The Dave isn't a victim of inverted snobbery any more than Diane Abbot is a victim of racism. Forget the specifics, consider the general point: The Dave arranged for a public body to supply some pals of his with public resources, then made use of them himself. That'd still be corrupt even if he was scoring free tickets for the dog track or cans of Special Brew.

Apparently, we misheard: he actually said he was the heir to Cherie Blair.

His problem isn't that he looks like a toff, it's that he looks like what he is: an entitled brat who treats the nation's resources like his own toy box. Compared to giving foreign aid to Argentina or destroying the Libyan government with no idea what to replace it with, using the Met as his own personal stable probably counts as letting Britain off lightly.

If Ed Miliband Was Smart....

... he wouldn't be a liberal, would he?

Nevertheless, ignoring that fundamental rule of the universe, if Miliband was smart, then he'd realise he has a tailor-made opportunity to 'detoxify his brand' - as Satan's Representative in No 10 would no doubt put it - simply by throwing scum like this under the bus.

Nothing sums up the demented nature of the modern left better than a soi-dissant socialist party that supports taxing janitors in Leeds to give money to millionaire luvvies in London, so they can make films about how folk in Yorkshire are ignorant bigots.

Liberals: Still Scum

I'm thinking this case is the perfect microcosm of the difference between left and right.

Yes, indeed, HSBC were their usual sleazy selves, and it's disgraceful that their senior management have managed to avoid disbarment for conduct that would have got a small town IFA strung up, but at least they've faced some consequences.

Meanwhile, the supposed charidees wot exist to help the helpless? Ah yes: they traded on their (undeservedly) good reputations to lead the marks into the lion's den, and they've got away with the cash, their reputations intact and in all probability a press release ready to go asking for the government to give them a grant to help protect their clients from predatory capitalist pig dogs.

Planet of the Conspiracy Nuts

Say what you like about Russell T Davis, but at least his latest effusions are thought-provoking, even if the thought is 'hey, I never knew his stuff was ghost-written by a drunk, homeless guy'.

Second thought: how come whenever ones of the staff at the ever-unbiased BBC goes feral, they all go feral in the self-same way? They never suddenly announce that Cast Iron Dave should slash housing benefit and use the savings to bolster the RAF, or that we should have our own Second Amendment. No, it's always some guy who think the right is, like, totally evil.

Where's the diversity?

On the plus side, at least he is unusually candid about how he reached his diagnosis: he thinks the right is too harsh on media luvvies. Yep, these people are all about the hospitals & schools & long lunches at chintzy restaurants. He probably thinks the right are selfish too, all poncing round Barnsley with their coal-mining friends.

But that's not it. Liberals have always been leeches. No, the real question is this: in so far as the head honcho has now outed himself as an off-the-scale loon, are you still a tin-foil hatted kook if you complain about liberal bias in his shows?

DJ's Amazing Facts

Libs like raising taxes, but not actually paying them.

The Nu Tories are a bunch of arrogant pigs who effortlessly combine the worst aspects of every social class.

Even an imploding economy can't stop the government spending money like a Premiership footy player with a day to live.

And Another Thing...

I'm probably the last person in the world to notice this, but not only is there a common theme running through the list of smears planned by McBride, but it's also a completely absurd line of attack. After twelve years of ministers employing their Labradors as press officers and claiming they live in a cornflake packet, being ruled by a bunch of pervs would be a definite improvement.

It's got so bad that even the Shagopocalypse of the Major Years now looks like a lost Golden Age of political integrity. At least they only screwed the public one at a time.

They're All About The Justice

Something to remember next time you see some lawyer in the MSM waxing pious about justice.

Apparently, bombs going off, kids being murdered and industry being choked to death are all prices well worth paying for justice!, but low fees? That's just crazy talk!

Personally, I'm just glad no one in private industry is talking about letting murderers off the hook just to protect profits, otherwise liberals would be calling for air strikes. It's not even as if we're talking low wages in any sense that an Earth person would use it. Check out the figures:
under the new rates top Queen’s Counsel were on preparation rates (for work leading up to trial) of £91 an hour... a barrister would pocket about half of that after paying overheads, expenses, tax and so on.
Let us move smoothly past the humbuggery of liberals complaining about the cost of taxation, and consider this: preparation work - isn't that kind of like paying Dame Judi Dench for learning her lines? But still, for the sake of this ludicrous argument let's specify that for some reason our hypothetical QC never does anything other than preparatory work. He's still taking home an after-tax income of £3640 per week. Hey, in some parts of the country that's not considered a bad wage.

Of course, no one does only preparatory work:
For a day in court the rates range from £285 to £476 [per hour] for a top QC.
Just in case you're keeping track at home, that means an eight hour day earns scores them £3880.

At this point it's worth contrasting the legal profession with another well-subsidised group. Liberals hate, hate, HATE! farm subsidies, but look what the quid pro quo is: farmers are faced with everything from environmental regulations to production quotas. Meanwhile, lawyers bleed the taxpayer dry and claim it's just the free market in action.

Ditto, I'm pretty sure drilling thousands of metres into the Earth's crust to extract volatile hydrocarbons is not a simple task, but the same liberals who demand windfall taxes for energy companies would never dream of the same punitive measures being applied to lawyers.

Still, it's hard to have much sympathy for the government. Not only has the government's habit of outsourcing law making to the courts helped bloat the budget in the first place, it's also emboldened these people to the point where they feel they can strong arm a democratically-elected government into acting as a giant ATM.

In this, as in so many other areas, Parliament has utterly failed to live up to its role of acting as a check and balance on the power of the courts. Just to give two examples of what needs to be done, Parliament could remove the ability of lawyers to pervert the public debate by forcing lawyers to identify themselves as such when they appear in the media, instead of allowing them to pass themselves off as 'concerned citizens' or such like, and they could remove the ability of lawyers to choke off public criticism with libel suits.

After all, these are the folks who insist that the medical profession, the police and the Army can't be trusted and so they must be subject to having their actions picked over by the courts years after the fact. How come criticism of the legal system is subject to review by the self-same courts? Aren't these the folks who issue teary declarations about the importance of independent tribunals?

There are plenty of other measures that could be done, but all of them rely on our elected representatives being reunited with their spines, so I guess we may as well resign ourselves to ever more money going to lawyers. Still, in so far as these people would let murders go free just to make their point, could the MSM at least stop portraying them as guardians of justice?

It'd Take A Heart Of Stone Not To Laugh

Let's not be too harsh about this - it may just be that his handles his personal financial dealings like he handled his city's ones. He probably invested it all in Zimbabwe.

For The Children

Liberals: is there no end to the suffering they'll endure for the sake of da kidz ?

Don't forget to click through to read about the NSPCC's somewhat... expansive vision of child protection. Apparently, what Britain's kids need most of all is protection from the evils of light kiwi fruit.
