Liberals Always Push It Too Far

The Mighty Ann Coulter reports on last Friday's shootings in a New York hospital and you'll be shocked to hear just why the MSM told us more about the gun used than the actual killer.

Of course, when I say 'shocked' I mean for certain values of 'shocked', obviously. Clue Number Two was the absence of pretentious MSM think pieces about what these shootings say about Trump's America. Or, indeed, any reporting at all after the first six hours.

You need to read Ann to find out what's really going on:
There are mental illness shootings, gangland shootings, still-angry-about-the-divorce shootings and so on. Some immigrant murderers are mentally ill or criminals -- thanks to our excellent and extremely rigorous vetting system! But there are enough like Mr. Obotetukudo to qualify as their own category: the Disappointed Immigrant mass shootings.
The usual elements are: 1) immigrants from wildly different cultures, who have 2) unrealistic expectations about what their lives should be like in the U.S., combined with 3) an inability to achieve success in the U.S., and 4) a failure to grasp our customs -- often, even our language, typically marked by 5) a particular rage at women.
The same way girls from the Midwest come to New York City expecting to live like Carrie Bradshaw in "Sex and the City" (she was paying $700 a month for a $2,700 per month apartment, plus $40,000 on shoes), some immigrants seem to expect their lives in the U.S. to be like something out of "Dynasty."
And if all that is starting to sound a little familiar, here's the next line:
Bello, for example, declared bankruptcy in 2000 -- from one of the priciest towns in the world, Santa Barbara, California.
Zut alors! An entitled immigrant who believes it's his right to live in some of the world's priciest property, despite being completely incapable of paying for it himself? Who'd believe such a thing?

Expect the BBC to run a sob sister documentary on this guy in the next few months.

Meanwhile, closer to home, the left has been so convinced that the Grenfell residents are the baby seals to end all baby seals, that they've lost all contact with reality. The left has managed to throw away any political capital they might have gained by filling the airwaves 24/7 with illegal immigrants raging in broken English about how angry they are that they might have to move to Camden or Hackney.

The Only Rule Liberals Ever Recognise Is 'Who? Whom?'

Julia brings us up to the speed on the left's ongoing search for Baby Seals.

Disappointingly, it appears that St Edson, the martyr of Newham, had a number of packages in his throat when he died, and not in an Elton John kind of way (no doubt, the Guardian is planning to print a retraction any time now).

Still, as one door closes, another fire door opens and noted pyrotechnic expert David Lammy is going through Grenfell Towers conspiracy theories like Henry VIII went through wives.

Or maybe that was his successor, Henry VII?

Who knows? Not Dave, that's for sure! But you should totally trust him when he talks about burning times, flashover points and other things he saw on CSI Miami.

Still, that leaves open the wider point: Dave's meta conspiracy theory, his Protocols of the Learned Elders of the Tory Party, as it were, is that the Government is lying about the death toll to prevent a riot.

Never mind the absurdity of the charge, just think about the humbuggery of it. The left just got through claiming that you're not allowed to say our border security does a worse job than David Lammy's history teacher, otherwise you might make someone run over Muslims a year later, but now they're claiming to be outrageously outraged that the Government is supposedly withholding information to try and avoid a riot.

Hey, there's nothing theoretical about mob violence around Grenfell, but the same people who create Kennedy Assassination theories to explain why Nigel Farage should never be allowed to speak in public again are suddenly reborn as flinty crusaders for the public's right to know, and damn the torpedoes!

Technically, They Did Say They Were Against Inflammatory Rhetoric......

...They didn't say anything about inflamma-laboury rhetoric.

Apparently, Nigel Farage, Katie Hopkins and the Daily Mail are all responsible for some tool going crazy with his van, but the Guardian is just practicing responsible journalism when it comes out with stuff like this:
The family of a man who died following his arrest in London last week have demanded answers after the police watchdog said a postmortem contradicted their claim that he suffered a series of severe injuries.
So the evidence proves that they're lying liars, who lied, but the Guardian still makes them out to be concerned seekers after justice?

M'kay.

It's not even as if the left can claim not to understand the implications of what they're doing:
The watchdog said it was releasing those details because it was concerned about the “rapid spread of false and potentially inflammatory information” online about Da Costa’s condition.
I'd say we passed 'potentially inflammatory' sometime ago....

Then again, you can't say there isn't an element of poetic justice here: while the Guardian is trying to whip up an anti-police mob with phony baloney atrocity stories, the Filth themselves know who the real enemy is: losers on Facebook.

So Now We Know Who Clicks On Those 'Get Ripped In 6 Weeks' Ads On YouTube...

I'm sensing a real frustration amongst Respectable Conservatives right about now. They're wondering how Jeremy Corbyn can still be in the race with all his baggage. If you are one of those guys, I have some good news: I can show you how to find one of the guilty parties right now. Just go into your bathroom and look at the mirror. There he is!

They're wondering how people can vote for an out and proud Marxist. Well, why not? What does the average person know about the Holodomor, the Great Leap Forward or the Year Zero? Nada. Not only have Respectable Conservatives allowed the left to whitewash their role in 100 million deaths, some of them have even tried to score extra Respectable points by joining the left in dismissing critics of Marxism as a bunch of paranoid hicks stuck in 1985.

Ditto, on terrorism. Yes, Corbyn's record has been despicable, but the Tories aren't much better. Apparently, Labour wants to hire 20,000 police officers to track down people who appear on national TV talking about jihad. But what can the Tories really say? We've had three terror attacks one after the other, all involving 'known wolves', but the police know who the real enemy are.

Respectable Conservatives are shocked that a guy who clearly hates Britain could be elected PM, but they've been as guilty as anyone in creating a culture where joining a hostile foreign army is just an alternative lifestyle choice. Say what you like about Corbyn, he only supports ISIS, he didn't actually join them. Meanwhile, actual ISIS members are welcomed back into the country and given directions to the 'all you can eat' welfare buffet.

To the point: being a Professional Conservative must be the best paid job in the world, at least in terms of the hourly rate. These guys are in hibernation most of the time, then they wake up each election campaign and complain that they have trouble making headway in a culture that the left spends 365 days a year poisoning.

Throwing Acid In The Public's Face

Yes, they do hate us, and have done so for a long time.

It goes back at least as far as the 1987 general election, when Neil Kinnock whined that you couldn't tell a working man earning good money, with his own house, a new car and a villa in Spain 'Brother, let me take you out of your misery'.

The left  love the downtrodden masses providing they stay trodden down. Once they start making a bit of money and getting ideas above their station all bets are off. Consider the reaction to Brexit for final proof of that.

You can't even put it down to self-interest or snobbery. It's something much more primal than that. For the left not only is the personal always political, but vice versa too. Never mind Clement Attlee or Nye Bevan, the perfect poster boy for the modern left is Elliot Rogers.

Too far fetched? Consider the left's response to Rotherham. Here are a group of people who've spent years producing saccharine drivel about life oop North, while also giving house room to feminazis ranting about how rape culture is, like, everywhere, sista. But as soon as they ran into an actual rape culture, on the loose in Brassed Off territory....

Suddenly, it turned out rape wasn't about power after all. Feminists all but queued up to explain how the victims were practically asking for it, the sluts. Large parts of the left seemed to positively relish the idea of young girls being sexually tortured and humiliated. Their reaction was like nothing so much as a frustrated stalker enjoying the suffering of the woman who rejected him.

See, we were meant to be together, them as ruler, us as the ruled. They could have been so good for us, but us people, us whores, had to go off with those Tory bad boys, with their fancy 'home ownership' and 'personal responsibility'. Well, they're going to teach us a lesson alright, THEY'RE NOT GOING TO BE IGNORED.

The open borders lobby is a bunch of losers throwing acid in the public's face by proxy - sometimes literally.

Nonce In A Lifetime!

It's finally happened: after years of the 'Respectable Right' penning 7,000 words articles about how they, like, totally deplore paedophiles (but they don't support taking any action whatsoever against actual predators), they've finally found the one case that does call for the bombers to be launched. In fact, it's so serious even the left has decided that it's time to give war a chance.

Our respectable brethren are enraged that Milo Yiannopoulos was able to abduct and murder a series of teenage runaways...

No, wait: that's not right. It's even worse than that - brace yourself, grandma - he's accused of saying pro-paedophile things across a series of interviews.

Which is clue number one right there. The usual suspects are back to the 'ransom note' method, as in daisy chaining a number of different quotes from different interviews together to try and prove the target is an extreme extremist, just like making a ransom note by cutting letters out of the newspaper. All that need be said about that technique is that if this cut and paste method is so fair, these guys won't mind if we apply it to real paedophiles in court, right? Talking of which, it looks like the rule now is that we can parse out the meaning of every statement ever made by a comedian/journalist, but we have to take Supreme Court decisions at face value, or you hate the rule of law.

Then again, close up analysis doesn't really help the case against Milo. As far as I can see, right now, there are two main issues, and they're both stupid. First up, Milo is accused of trivialising child abuse in the way he talks about his *own* molestation.

Think about that. That's how arrogant these people are: they want to tell a victim of sexual abuse how he's allowed to feel about it (Meanwhile, suggesting women shouldn't get wasted then walk alone through the town center at 4 AM is victim blaming, you pig)!

The other, slightly less stupid, charge is that he sorta of, kind of, suggested the age of consent should be lowered, even though he clearly said it was 'about right'. It all depends how you interpret quotes like this:
The positive nature of some child-adult sexual relationships is not confined to non-Western cultures. Several of my friends – gay and straight, male and female – had sex with adults from the ages of nine to 13. None feel they were abused. All say it was their conscious choice and gave them great joy. While it may be impossible to condone paedophilia, it is time society acknowledged the truth that not all sex involving children is unwanted, abusive and harmful.
No, wait: that was actually alleged National Treasure Peter Tatchell who said that, and a lot more besides. Tatchell has come out with this sort of thing for years, and in cold blood too, in actual, written articles, not while pushing an edgy personae on someone's live stream. He's campaigned for it too, just like Harriet Harman, Patricia Hewitt and Jack Dromney, actual MPs with real power, and luvvie favorite campaign group Liberty too.

Hmmmmmm... you know, you could ask if any of this gave as much aid and comfort to the predators as Milo did with his jokes about his own molestation?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that all of the above cases will turn out to be completely different, you lager-sodden, tabloid reading piece of trash. You just don't get the nuance, you stupid prole.

See, that's the thing. They think this is a win for them. They think we're too stupid to see what's going on. The same views can be either outrageous or courageous depending on who holds them.  This double standard between insiders and real people is exactly why the real right exists.

The Cringe Is Over

The best thing about Brexit & Trump is that it has deprived the left of their favourite weapon: the argument that liberalism is the default setting of modern life and only a few cray-cray extremists could possibly be against it. Now, for the first time in years, the left is having to make actual arguments, and it's going about as well as you'd expect. Consider Exhibit A: Red Princess Lilly Allen.

Incidentally, the comparison to royalty is exactly right. Lilly is the daughter of alt comedy luvvie Keith Allen, step daughter of Harry Enfield, and mum's a film producer. Add in the fancy private education and she makes Prince Harry look like a self-made man.

All of which is by way of saying that as easy as it is to mock silly Lilly and friends, we should never forget that the supposed Super Genii in the 'Respectable Right' have spent years telling us that we need to go along to get along with these fools. Allegedly brilliant policy wonks sneered at the bumpkins in the conservative base, telling us we needed to get with the program and triangulate away our principles. Now it turns out that globalisation is inevitable except when it isn't. The Ford driving morons in the suburbs were right and the smart set were wrong. About everything.

As ever, I ask: just what definition of 'genius' are we using here?

If It Wasn't For Double Standards, Liberals Would Have No Standards At All...

The Guardian carries an article from a liberal sulking about Milo's massive one.

I mean his advance, you weirdos.

They want to give his publisher the whole 'nice company you got 'ere, be a shame if something 'appened to it' treatment, but they seem kind of vague on who exactly Milo is:
During Yiannopoulos’s tenure at Breitbart – where he’s told gay people to “get back in the closet” and women to “log off” the internet – he has amassed more than 1 million followers on Facebook.
Yes, if there's one thing Milo stands for, it's opposition to flaming homos. At this point, you can't help but feel a strange respect for the honesty of celebrity weirdo Perez Hilton who filed his story about Milo under the label 'icky icky poo'. At least he didn't even pretend to have a point (other than 'I hate the right'). Meanwhile, the left's Brains Trust has to resort to arguments like this:
Why? Because rhetoric like his – which targets racial, religious and cultural minorities – invites discrimination. It arguably encourages people such as Omar Mateen and Dylann Roof to think of entire groups of people as less than human.
Yes, indeed. The right must be silenced otherwise they might encourage somebody, somewhere to do something at some point in the future. Just on first principles, it seems a little broad.... even if you don't think that some other book might have been a little more directly involved in motivating Omar Mateen to shoot up a gay club. But the humbuggery is even more blatant than that.

On the very same day as the Milo post, the Guardian ran with a softball interview with the father of the left's latest baby seal, Mohammed Yaqub.

Yep, this guy.  Needless to say, very little of the Mail's background material makes it in to the interview. Instead we get stuff like this:
The grieving father of a man who was fatally shot by police in West Yorkshire has said his family are heartbroken and questioned whether armed officers planned to “assassinate” his son.
So for those of you keeping score at home, calling Leslie Jones 'barely literate' and Melissa McCarthy 'fat' and 'ugly' - also known in Saneville as 'reporting stuff' - is inflammatory, but pushing insane conspiracy theories gets you the soft soap treatment at the Guardian.

It's not like they distance themselves from this nutcase either. Au contrair, they refer to him as 'a well-known and respected businessman' even after he's given up on all but the most perfunctory attempt at plausible deniability thing:
He said: “Look at the case in London, [Mark] Duggan – look how many protests they had to take to get answers. If it’s a peaceful protest there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as it’s peaceful.”
Except they weren't peaceful then and aren't now, so y'know... it turns out that the same paper that wants to prevent the right from writing about terrible movies on the grounds that their reviews may provoke mass murder has no problem giving house room to deranged conspiracy theories and barely disguised calls for mob violence.

Yes, Virginia, Social Justice Warriors Do Always Project

The Third Rule in action: Gold Level member of the Lucky Sperm Club Hugo Rifkind tries for a new angle on The Trumpening and comes up with possibly the worst analogy ever. The Donald is like one of those super evil Pick Up Artists, what use their cunning PUA ways to bamboozle innocent maidens into bed, except The Donald is seducing those dummy dumb-dumb hicks in fly-over country into voting for him.

The thing is that while folks were still trying to work out if Hugo had ever really met any PUAs, or even any women, this happened.

Yes, indeed: savvy, political insider Hugo was too stupid to recognise an obviously bogus quote. Guys running plumbing businesses in Bath or Toledo are easily fooled morons, but it always turns out to be the well-bred Certified Super Genii in the MSM that fall for obvious hoaxes.

This Is Why People Hate The MSM

The brass neck of these people:
The over-all impression of the meeting from the attendees I spoke with was that Trump showed no signs of having been sobered or changed by his elevation to the country's highest office.
Yes, indeed: the Golden Don has been given a resounding mandate by the American people, and they still think he should be tugging his forelock to the MSM.

Expecting the President Elect of the United States to grovel to a bunch of entitled buffoons would be absurd at the best of times but these guys spent months acting as a de facto part of the Clinton campaign. Her defeat was their defeat too, and now they're claiming he should be wearing sackcloth and ashes? Just what does it take to puncture the MSM's bizarre sense of self-importance?

It's Not Just The Money...

That small proportion of the left that are not currently huddling together in their safe spaces have settled on a comforting myth about the whole Brexit/Trumpening/2016 thing. They claim it's all about the economics. People are just hacked off with stagnant wages, ever-worsening conditions and rampant job insecurity.

What a relief, huh? It turns out the left just hasn't been leftist enough. No need for to look critically at the rest of the left's agenda, they just need more taxes and regulation.

Meanwhile, in the real world, people are turning away from the left because of stuff like this. How warped is this story? Let us count the ways:

1. Life sentence appears to work on dog years

2. Murderous loon gets fast-tracked into social housing ('yes we know you've killed people too, Steve, but you were in Helmand at the time so it don't count')

3. Government keeps people in the dark about having the Mad Axeman living next door

4. Government then refuses to listen to any complaints about said Mad Axeman

5. Once the Government can no longer find a carpet big enough to hide this case under, they issue a blandsville statement, then carry on regardless. No job insecurity in the public sector!

That's what people are enraged about. We're living in a Bizarro World where the State harasses ordinary people in ways beyond the imagination of East Germany while letting actual nutcases run riot, sure that whatever happens, they will never face any actual consequences.

Hence 2016: the Year of Accountability.

Our Nation's Non-Playing Captains

Actual smart guy Nassim Nicholas Taleb tears into the self-appointed genius class:
What we have been seeing worldwide, from India to the UK to the US, is the rebellion against the inner circle of no-skin-in-the-game policymaking “clerks” and journalists-insiders, that class of paternalistic semi-intellectual experts with some Ivy league, Oxford-Cambridge, or similar label-driven education who are telling the rest of us 1) what to do, 2) what to eat, 3) how to speak, 4) how to think… and 5) who to vote for.
But the problem is the one-eyed following the blind: these self-described members of the “intelligenzia” can’t find a coconut in Coconut Island, meaning they aren’t intelligent enough to define intelligence hence fall into circularities — but their main skill is capacity to pass exams written by people like them. With psychology papers replicating less than 40%, dietary advice reversing after 30 years of fatphobia, macroeconomic analysis working worse than astrology, the appointment of Bernanke who was less than clueless of the risks, and pharmaceutical trials replicating at best only 1/3 of the time, people are perfectly entitled to rely on their own ancestral instinct and listen to their grandmothers (or Montaigne and such filtered classical knowledge) with a better track record than these policymaking goons.
It's all good but the key point is track record. The thing with our elite is that most of them don't seem to have ever actually done anything especially elite. Their qualification for elite status is based on a tautology: they're elite because they're the type of person who's in the elite, and if you don't buy that, well, it just proves you're too stoopid to understand anyway.

Needless to say, even these guys don't find their arguments all that convincing. Hence their constant desire to run down people with actual skills. Take the obsession with pushing ludicrous allegations of war crimes. This makes way more sense once you realise it's all down to our elites's jealousy and fear of people who really have been tested under maximum conditions, and in service of their country too.

Similarly, this is where the whole 'skin in the game' thing comes in. The point is not just that the elite are free to indulge in ludicrous virtue signalling, knowing full well they'll never have to deal with the consequences, it's that they very lunacy of their ideas is part of the attraction. They're advertising the fact that no matter how bad things get, it won't affect them. It's a subtle form of status signalling.

Confirmed: Nicky Morgan Is None Too Sharp

As further evidence of my theory that 50% of the attraction of liberalism is allowing idiots to pretend to be super smart, consider this from the Guardian's profile of Dan Han (spoiler: they claim he's like, totally, a weirdo):
[Nicky Morgan] didn’t hear much about free trade and parliamentary supremacy in May and June. “Talking to people who voted leave … ‘back’ was a very important word. One of the most depressing things was this, ‘I want to take our country back.’ Back to what?”
Huh? That's literally the whole parliamentary supremacy thing in a nutshell: we want to take our sovereignty back. We want to elect a Parliament and know that they will be able to govern the country, instead of having to go cap in hand to a foreign power to ask 'may I'?

Actually, it is an interesting philosophical question: is our former Very Special Education Minister stupid enough not to see that, or is she just stupid enough to think this is a brilliant rhetorical point: no one actually used the precise phrase 'Parliamentary Supremacy' so clearly there's some Very Secret Dark Agenda at play here?

If our alleged elite want to know why they lost the Referendum, they don't need paranoid profiles about evil geniuses, they just need to consider the sheer absurdity of Nicky Moran sneering at anyone else as a member of the unenlightened masses.

Clearly, They Need A Professional Audience

Further to my earlier point re: the inevitable decline of feminism, it looks like even some of the coven's top hags are, frankly, getting rather fed up with the refusal of their fellow wimminz to shut their stupid ho mouths and get a damn good liberatin'.
Also jurors – in particular female ones – do not want to face the fact that those who commit rape include a broad cross section of men, and rarely fit the stereotype of a masked madman leaping out of a bush.
Yes, indeed: the lunatic fringe 91% are out of step with the mainstream. Hence the desire to switch from a 'jury of your peers' to a jury of, well, fellow fanatics, actually.

Call me suspicious, but I'm not sure I'd trust Julie Bindel with deciding whether or not men deserve to be jailed...

But it turns out though that it's not just the jury pool where the New Girl Order is having recruitment problems. In the world of pop culture, it turns out that they came, they saw.... they got their ass kicked, actually.

But you can't have a Stalingrad without a Kursk afterwards. The SJWs might have taken a beating at the box office but if they couldn't actually launch their own films - or even other people's films that were done way better years ago - they could surely punish any Wrongthink... couldn't they?
The newly released superhero (or supervillain, to be precise) movie Suicide Squad has already outgrossed the feminist-friendly remake of Ghostbusters in its first weekend, despite Ghostbusters now being released almost a month ago.
Turns out the only people who got any payback were the investors.

And it gets even better:
Despite allegations of sexism, the film performed exceptionally well amongst women. As The Hollywood Reporter reveals: “The biggest surprise in terms of audience makeup was the strong turnout among females, who made up 46 percent of Friday’s audience, according to exit poling service CinemaScore. That’s unusual for a superhero film.”
Who knew? Young girls would rather identify with sexy and funny characters doing cool stuff, than with a herd of Bitchapotamus with permanent PMT.

BTW, that's for a movie that has suffered one of the most absurd post-production butcherings in movie history, with the studio trying to edit what was filmed as a darker alternative to the Avengers into a Deadpool style comedy (see the change in the tone of the trailers here).

Failure to ram Ghostbusters down the public's throat showed that SJWs could no longer hector the public into leaving the house and paying £12 for a movie, but Suicide Squad is an even bigger defeat for them. It shows they can't even sell people on staying at home.

OTOH, there's always true feminist icon Emma Watson...

Public Service Announcement: Public Services Are Run By Crazy People

Much has been said about police in Shottingham deciding to abandon (not) dealing with real crime and starting a war on bad game, but there's a deeper point here. Consider that all this has been driven by something called 'Nottingham Women's Centre'. How does that work exactly?

Only 9% of British women identify as feminist.

To put it another way, if you took a woman's football team, then out of the 11 players only.... actually, all of them would be feminists. Forget that. But that just makes the point that outside the fever swamps of wimminz sport, university campuses and other notorious covens, these wimminz group seem to be a little short of actual women.

That's not surprising all thing considered. The average Joanne Six-Pack may not know the ins and outs of feminism, but she can spot crazy when she sees it. The thing is though, no matter how crazy you think these people are, they're way crazier than that.

US journalist R S McCain has covered these people extensively both on his blog and in his excellent (and cheap) book The book's well worth buying but SPOILER it turns out deranged hatred of men is baked into the ideology of these loons - try this for starters.

They think a guy chatting up a girl is outrageously outrageous because everything men do is outrageous. It's the feminist version of Schrodinger's Cat: it can be both alive or dead but it's always sexist.

Say, Does Anyone Remember Talk Of A 'Referendum'?

Poor old Andrea Leadsom, huh? If only she'd joined ISIS Theresa May would have ignored her completely. As it is, she's been cast as a bigoted serial fraud and tax-cheat with a room temperature IQ.

Of course, the fact the Andrea Leadsom has now been appointed as a government minister should in no way be taken as a reason to question the sincerity of these charges.

Besides, if I was Theresa May, I'd be avoiding raising issues about dodgy CVs. Is there any real evidence she was ever actually Home Secretary? Apparently, none of the bad stuff was down to her, but no one can say what she was responsible for. There was the feminazi lunacy like the 'flash rape', but for the rest? Don't ask the MSM: she's totally brilliant, that's all you need to know.

Still, at least the establishment got their girl Theresa over the line, so it looks like the only real change in politics is that we've gone from a PM who was the embodiment of everything MSM journalists would like to be, to a PM who is the embodiment of what they really are. Fat Dave, with his blue blood, family fortune and breezy savoir faire was everything MSM journalists value (thus summing up why you should never trust the MSM to pick a PM), while his replacement is a preachy insular middlewit indistinguishable from any of the two bazillion wimminz writing columns on 'how cheese is sexist'.

Some say this is the Major Years Part II. We should be so lucky - at least the music was OK then. As it is, Theresa May is David Cameron's firm principles mixed with Gordon Brown's charm and personality, but even that's not all of it. The MSM keeps telling us she's a hugely experienced and skilled leader but everyone in Realville can see an uninspired plodding hack with a bunch of red flags: she's the Roy Hodgson of politics.

Quote of the Day

The Daily Caller interviews the guy behind the Conservative Pundit twitter account and - spoiler alert - he sums up what's wrong with modern politics far better than approximately 1 bazillion National Review or Spectator articles.

It's all good, but how about this on just why Professional Conservatives always seen like they're passing razor blades when called upon to actually defend conservatism:
The contemporary conservative pundit is in a precarious position. On the one hand, he agrees with his liberal friends that the United States prior to, say, the 1960s was a frightfully bigoted and hateful place, full of all sorts of phobias and -isms and other such indefensible attitudes. On the other hand, he wants his liberal friends to respect the political and cultural principles we’ve inherited from that evil and benighted past. It’s a weak position, and I don’t think many people besides other professional conservative pundits find it very compelling.
Exactly. Hence why The Donald's jibe about 'low energy' was so deadly. At least the left is going for the big stuff, the stuff they need to 'fundamentally transform' the world, as a famous Kenyan American once said. Professional Conservatives concede all they key issues to leftists but then try to quibble about the exact terms of the surrender.

Leon Brittan Was Not Available For Comment

Mr Plod is not happy with his employers:
For whatever reason, they have either refused to come forward, or have been economic with the truth. 'I am left with the inescapable conclusion that this case could still be solved if only people were honest with us. The fact that they are not is agonising for Claudia's family and they should be ashamed of themselves.'
Yes, it really is a mystery why people are reluctant to cooperate with these guys.
A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in May 2014 and was later released from bail and a 46-year-old man was arrested in July 2014 on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. He was later released without charge.
Fortunately, lessons were learned and from that day forward the police resolved only to move when they had real evidence of guilt.

Just kiddding!
Following the release of the [CCTV] footage, the four men, in their 50s and from the York area, were arrested on March 23 and April 22 on suspicion of murder. They were released from bail in September to allow time for the CPS to assess the file of evidence and consider whether to bring charges.
So, six months on the hook before they even got the adults involved. Hey, it's not like the Chap Persecution Service sets the bar high on these cases.

Bear in mind that by spreading things out over months the filth has ensured that each of these guys has been left with five figure legal bills. They'll also have had their houses turned over - almost literally in fact as this exert from 2010 shows:
Police confirm they have spent two days searching a house about 10 miles from Claudia's home as a result of a "recent development".
Two days! Either this guy lives in a palace or he got the full 'Lord Bramhall' treatment, aka Smear Theater. In fact, the police claimed to have carried out 1,270 searches of properties in the first months alone. That's not an investigation, that's carpet bombing. Who in their right mind would risk getting tangled up with these guys, when there's a good chance that you'll get your place trashed, your reputation destroyed and a legal bill for £30,000+ once they begrudgingly let your bail lapse after six months?

Of course, who knows what the truth is? They could still get a suspect to court one day, but one thing is certain: when they do, the defense will be sure to point out that these guys do seem quite happy to fixate on literally any guy they think they might be able to stick this thing on, irrespective of such squaresville considerations as 'evidence' and the like.

Attention Peasants! Stop Reading The Wrong Things

File this under true confessions - a liberal whining about Amazon admits their real problem with it:
In its early days, Amazon emulated a traditional bookstore model, with a bunch of editors and critics choosing which books were recommended on the site. Once Jeff Bezos realised an algorithm could do this better and more cheaply, the editorial team was canned. Over the years, this algorithm has been tuned into a supreme money-making engine – shaping the Amazon shopfront to appeal to your wallet via your existing preferences.
The beasts! Using their platform to show you stuff you might be interested in and not what a bunch of Certified Smart People want you to read.

Yeah, yeah, he knows what you people are like: without the guidance of Snootly T Snootlington you morons would be busy reading books with actual plots, believable dialog and likeable characters, instead of books that have a dragon on the cover, but turn out to be ham handed allegories for transgenderism.

While Amazon is accused of introducing people to books they might like, liberals are stopping books being produced in the first place. That's what happens when publishers get colonised by Social Justice Warriors. The agenda has to be shoehorned into everything, no matter how absurd that makes the story. Hence why novels set in the Napoleonic wars always include a female character who can take down six of the Imperial Guard while armed only with a teaspoon.

What the success of self-publishing proves is that a lot of the big publisher's potential customers are saying stop right there: a story where six guys sit round talking about how cool it is being gay is not science fiction, even if they are on a space station.

They Mean It

Legendary Factory Records boss Tony Wilson once asked Annik Honoré, who may or may not have been Ian Curtis's bit on the side, what she thought about the new Joy Division album. She told him it was 'terrifying'.

Huh?

'Don't you understand?' she said, 'he means it'. That's pretty much how I feel about the Corbyisation of the Labour Party - and not just for the suicidal overtones. People talk about the excesses of the left. They're wrong, they're not excesses, it's who they are. It's the whole 'acting like a civilised human being' that the average leftist struggles with. All that's happened now is that Spitty McSpitty has decided to stop pretending.

There's an opportunity there for the right, or there would be if not for our dog in the manger Tory Party. The biggest problem in the country right now is the way liberal activists have been able to weaponise the public sector, while still claiming to be regular Joe, salt of the earth, hard working public sector employees who, gosh darn it, just want to get the job done but they're frustrated by that nasty old witch, Tori Cutz. The truth is that that they're not nice people. They're a bunch of complete wackjobs and a less useless government would call them out on it.

Drones 4 Diversity

When I heard a top acadmic had insulted half the country I was a little surprised, then I thought 'wait...34% voting Tory and 14% UKIP, half sounds about right after all', but no: it turned out that Professor Hunt's crime was to blaspheme the Sacred Femme.

Which is obviously way worse.

The Conservative Woman says what needs to be said, and what's more they get the point about what it reveals about the hollowness of the Tory Party, but there's a flipside to this. Consider what it says about British science.

In so far as not a single member of the 'scientific community' felt that the public lynching of a bona fide expert in his field might be going a little too far - and even now his defenders aren't quibbling with the lynching in principle, just claiming that he didn't exactly say what people think he said - these people should probably stop claiming to support diversity.

Ditto, they should also stop pretending to be mystified why conservatives don't trust them. Not only is there the obvious point of just how warm we in the 48% are supposed to feel about folks operating a de facto 'no conservatives need apply' policy, but there's what it reveals about the reliability of their results. These guys claim to be disinterested seekers after truth, but how does that mesh with recruitment policies that leave half the country on the curb? Are they really claiming that there are conservative pilots, conservative engineers and conservative programmers, but when it comes to the science, there's not a single competent conservative scientist in the whole country? Millions of conservatives in the country but apparently they can't find one who's good enough to join their little club. Right there, before they've even done a stroke of work, they've shown they're prepared to skew their results to fit a political agenda ('no rightists') but we're meant to trust them when they say if we don't surrender to the UN, the Earth will be a ball of fire?

On The Other Hand, Screw Westminister Anyway

Yes, indeed, House of Dumb: first for all your sour grape needs.

Actually, the polls have only just closed and I have no idea what's going to happen but I still have a feeling that in the long term, it might just turn out that the most important political story of last month didn't involve any actual politicians.

As some of you will know, Social Justice Warriors have had a recent meltdown about a company in London that put an attractive woman on some posters and.... actually, that was it, that's what tipped them over the edge: a hot babe. So naturally the company concerned backed down and apologised, then hired some of these mutants to run sensitivity seminars, except not really. Instead they did something else, something magical.

Yes, indeed: a tiny company did the left more damage in a couple of weeks than our nation's Professional Conservatives have done in a year. They've not only shown how easy it is to just tell these people to shove it, but by refusing to back down they've forced the SJWs to try and come up with actual arguments to support their goofy positions... thereby laying bare just how absurd their philosophy really is.

In fact, these guys managed to work out something that's evaded our allegedly brilliant Tory Party. A bunch of fatties threatening to boycott a health company? Isn't that kind of like rabbis boycotting bacon? More to the point though, not only is there no actual downside to alienating people who hate you anyway, people who do share your values will be drawn to your cause. Hence why these guys are rolling in cash.

It turns out that not only is the left's supposed domination of pop culture a myth, but plenty of people were just waiting for the chance to give SJWs the finger.

Quote Du Jour: Special Insider Edition

I was going to write something about the sheer inadequacy of the Tory approach to dealing with Britain's problems but I can't improve on this.

Then I thought I'd write a little about how 'tactical' voting always leads, sooner or later, to strategic defeat but then I saw this.

Both too good not to read in full, but the deeper question is how the Hell did we get here anyway? US blogger Ace puts his finger on it:
This is about class. This is all about class.
This is about, specifically, the careerist, cowardly, go-along-to-get-along mores of the Upper Middle Class, the class of people whose parents were all college educated, and of course are college educated themselves; the class that dominates our thought-transmitting institutions (because non-college educated people are more of less shut out of this industry)...
This is why we have no actual conservative movement worth a damn: Because our political officers and our thought leaders are all drawn from, and aspire to advance in, the same Upper Middle Class Northeast-and-California cultural consensus of "respectability."
True, he's technically speaking about the narrow question of whether or not people deserve to murdered for drawing cartoons, but it still holds true generally.

I can believe that a lot of Professional Conservatives in Britain can see the damage the left has done to this country, but they still can't bring themselves to do anything about it if that would mean risking the loss of those super-exclusive dinner party invites, let alone letting people who don't even get invited in the first place get their grubby hands on the levers of power (i.e. UKIP).

To the point:
To escape the Matrix, you must first see the Matrix -- something Andrew Breitbart was fond of observing.
To be a traitor to one's Class is to be a patriot towards humanity.
Maybe Marx said that. Maybe I did. I don't know. But I do believe it. I believe that far too many ideas we have are non-ideas, things we've never actually thought through, but are simply Class Assumptions, and that we are all too afraid to go against our herd, our tribe, and start questioning some goddamned Class Assumptions.
A lot of people in Britain have got to ditch the idea that the Tories represent people like them. It's easy to mock people who vote Labour because their dad did and their grandad before them, but large parts of the right aren't much different. People seriously need to ask themselves when was the last time the conservatives did something that seriously struck back at the liberal consensus - I'm guessing not since 1990.

In so far as there are any excuses for modern conservatism, they rest on their supposed economic competence. Never mind how dubious that claim is, there's the wider issue. When it comes to life as it's lived by real people the Tories have all but announced that the left can do what they want, and if you don't like it, you're probably racist or summink. They're betting the ballot fodder will keep voting for them no matter what. History will show whether they're right or not.

About That Wasted Vote Thing...

Remember, waste a vote on UKIP and you might end up with a government that appoints leftist culture warriors to key jobs.

At risk of stating the obvious - obvious to anyone except our nation's professional conservatives anyway - this isn't a minor matter. The Press Regulator is in a position to help choke off debate on any topic liberals find unhelpful. Anyone think guys like this are going to be supportive of the paper that breaks news of the next Rotherham?

Expect more reports on the heroism of Comrade Ogilvy.

This is the perfect example of how the excuses for Cameronism rely on completely inverting cause and effect. We're told the culture has drifted leftwards so the Right needs to abandon the culture war and get with the program. The truth is pretty much the opposite. The left understands that in terms of ability to shape the culture, guys like this have far more power than the average backbench MP, but the Smartest People In The Room keep pretending that the right just needs to flip a few more red seats blue and we'll enter a new Golden Age.

What This Election Is Really About: UKIP Vs TVP

Hey, it's great to be back! I've been tied up these past few weeks working with Thames Valley Police's Hypothetical Crimes Division. All their cops were busy dealing with non-existent hit & runs, so I had to pitch in to help investigate the theoretical case of an 80 year old widow who would totally have been tortured to death by home invaders while the police were too busy shaking down motorists to respond. If this case had actually happened then the gang concerned could potentially have been very dangerous, but fortunately there's now a reciprocal arrangement in place whereby the police raise revenue and HMRC provide a SWAT team so you can rest assured your government is right on top of all forms of speculative homicide.

 ...

No, just kidding! There's nothing theoretical about Thames Valley Police prioritising shaking down drivers while letting serious criminals run free.

Apparently, Sgt498 was not available for comment.

When it all comes down to it, that's what this election is really about. We've had a nominal Conservative in No 10 for five years and we've still got Socialist Workers in uniform strutting round shouting 'Oh, I suppose you want to murder children do you, Adolf Businessman? Right? RIGHT'?

Meanwhile, mention the Molesters of No Appearance and these guys suddenly turn into Nuance Squad. They take out an onion for pretendey deaths on the road, but real kids being molested? That's a toughey. Who's to say? We'll get back to you on that.... sometime.

Just on it's own all this would be an indictment of the legacy parties, but there's a bigger issue here. No one voted to pay SJW tossers in uniform to campaign - in both senses of the word - against motorists, and we certainly didn't vote to redraw the law on rape. It was the left's Common Purpose cultists in uniform who did all that, just like their fellow travelers in the rest of the public services have pushed the left's agenda in their jobs, and they'll keep doing it until they're stopped. Right now only one party out there that is promising to do anything about rooting them out and restoring actual accountability to the public services. Free clue: it isn't the one that just spent the last five years insisting that it's the non-rapist protecting side of the political spectrum that's extremist.

Quote Du Jour (Now With Extra Lunacy)

Old, but still true:
The auto-destruction of the Conservative Party began before Dave even won the leadership, when Theresa May announced the “modernising” agenda to the party conference. Addressing a hall full of people who had taken time off work or used up holiday entitlements, the kitten-heeled harridan strutted the stage as she told them that if they harboured all the instincts and principles traditionally regarded as Tory: “There is no room for you in our (sic) party.”
Her assumption that the Conservative Party belonged not to her audience and supporters in the wider community but to the platform party of ministers and their sycophants first exposed the fatal sense of entitlement that has brought the party to the verge of dissolution.
Yep, the Tory face cards all claim to abhor Big Government but they really do think the man in the street is a knuckle-dragging moron who needs to be watched like a hawk. Strangely however, it always turns out to be members of Cast Iron Dave's Nu Elite who get caught coming out with deranged anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

Palace Eunuch Rages At Peasants

Hah - and people said my plan to slip sodium penthol into the water supply at Tory HQ wouldn't work!

When these guys talk about political parties, they mean they should be run as though they were an actual party, a chintzy soiree in North London full of dreadfully witty luvvies, with the only normal people there either serving drinks or kept in a glass display case in the centre of the room.

It's not as if they can claim this guy isn't a total insider either - just in case the absence of any of the standard girly outrage from the usual suspects didn't tip you off. This is what they really believe.

This has always been the enormous black hole at the heart of the Scottish 'No' campaign. Like this guy says, we've had a campaign supporting Britain run by people that don't actually like Britain. He's right that the left doesn't like Britain but the Parris wing of the right doesn't actually like the British.

All the things that make Britain great are things the left opposes. Maybe the Scottish Referendum wasn't the best place to point out that 'An Englishman's home is his castle' but the underlying point gets to the heart of it all. The left is much more comfortable with Continental style government, where the citizens are subject to the whims of a permanent ruling class.

What made Britain great was that the citizens were free to pursue their lives as they saw fit, secure in the knowledge that neither their liberty nor their property could be arbitrarily seized from them. Equally, if you believe that it is the proper role of government to re-engineer society in pursuit of utopia then then idea of limited government constrained by a strong constitution is a problem for you.

The left's hatred of Britain at least has some kind of intellectual basis to it, repellent as their vision of the citizen as a near-serf is. With the Parris wing of the right it's far more squalid. Even these guys know that you could probably pick names randomly out of the Clacton phone book and still come up with people who could explain conservatism better than any of these frauds. Hence their obsession with Political Correctness aka an ever-expanding list of criteria to distinguish between their own enlightened selves and the mindless barbarians with real jobs.

No, 'Technology' Isn't Killing The MSM....

Is it just me or does it seem like the MSM is more upset about JLaw's nudey photos being hacked than about 1400 rapes in Rotherham?

I don't recommend holding your breath waiting for any MSM articles about how the hacker was clearly disenfranchised by society. Plus the MSM didn't spend a decade claiming that anyone who said there were hackers out there was clearly some kind of technophobic lunatic.

Ace of Spades blog makes an important point here (as well as pointing out another case the MSM is desperate not to report). The repellent thing about the MSM's slippery reporting is not just the point blank refusal to cover certain stories, but all that combined with a determination to ram other stories down our throats as disturbing insights into the dark heart of our society.

The MSM published millions of words of agonised opinionating over whether or not the police were 'insensitive' to the family of Stephen Lawrence, but now we have a case where, amongst other things, evidence in a rape case was lost and the MSM reports that like it's just one of those things. Could happen to anyone. Probably down the back of the sofa. Let's just draw a line under it and move on.

Also: Imperialist Running Dog Kulak

If you've ever wondered whether or not Political Correctness was class war by other by other means, I believe we may have an answer:
It was therefore a disappointment, if not a surprise, to receive a call from someone on the Conservative Party's candidates list last night to inform me that unless I ceased to question this move towards a new Party structure I would be expelled from the Conservative Party for being a "racist and 'homophobe'".
Yep, racist and homophobic for opposing centralisation of power in the Tory Party.

Huh?

Seriously, how does that even make sense? These guys really do believe that everywhere outside north London is a wasteland of bigoted buffoons. And that's without considering the irony of a party that talks about the 'Big Society' but insists on treating its members as serfs.

Of course, these new plans do seriously threaten UKIP. Once local people are swept aside by a battalion of Dave's Drones, equipped with the latest ProleTalk Module 1.7, I'm guessing UKIP are going to seriously struggle to handle all those new membership applications.

(And then there's this bit of deranged doubling down.)

Her Highness Addresses The Lower Orders

Heh. I'm so old I remember when Labour was against the hereditary principle.

Not to give aid & comfort to the enemy, but someone should tell them that's not what people mean when they talk about 'family values'.

What really pushes it over the top is her playing the victim card. She faced derogatory comments at Oxford, see. Much like those other 18 year old kids, who faced derogatory comments except in Afghanistan. Also: mortar fire, but they were men so they were oppressors and Princesss Emily is a victim, even while she scores a bundle of cash doing a job in the City, just like Nye Bevan before her.

Her life's a Bruce Springsteen song, I tells you.

Conspiracy Nuts FTW!

Who'd have thunk it? A former 'impartial civil servant' turns out to be a pal of Red Ed and a wannabe member of the Labour Parachute Club, looking forward to representing the people of [fill in the blank].

Actually, just about everyone could have predicted it. This was the guy who sat on the investigations into jihadist grooming gangs but flooded the zone for phone hacking. Just about the only people trying to deny the existence of the Big Red Elephant in the room where the Certified Super Genii at Tory HQ.

These are the guys that assured us that Komrade Keir and the rest were jus' folks, good honest hard working public servants and anyone who said otherwise was some crazed 1980s throwback jibbering about the something called the 'culture war'.

Now we know the truth. Yes, Cast Iron Dave did leave an off the scale lefty in charge of prosecutions even as the Great British Public rejected everything Starmer stands for. The Right was right, and the only 'bumpkins' were all the soi dissant sophisticates who believed the Nu Tory Party was about anything other than ideological surrender.

Well Played, Sir!

Google has started to adjust to the European Court's bonkers 'right to be forgotten' decision and the first high profile case turns out to be.... a top banker forced out after the crash.

What are the odds, huh?

Of course, this is one for the 'why don't more people do this' file? Make the left own their stupidity. Google are doing exactly what they were told to do and this guy's just using the right the Court conjured up of thin air. This is what the decision means: you can live the life of Reilly then when it all goes horribly wrong you can demand no one is allowed to talk about it.

All of which is by way of saying that if it's only a few right-wing whack jobs who could possibly object to all this, how come liberals need to get their mates on the bench to force it through instead of anyone we can vote out?

Extreme Extremists (Non-UKIP Edition)

Last Thursday was not only the high point of the legacy parties' whining about the supposed extremism of UKIP, it was also the first anniversary of this.

If David Cameron had devoted half as much energy to denouncing those guys as he did to calling UKIPers fascists, there probably wouldn't have been a UKIP surge to get all foot stampey about in the first place.

UKIP vs FSA

With the polls due to open in a few hours, it looks like being a straight up UKIP vs FSA fight. That's FSA as in the 'Free...Stuff Army'.

Yeah, 'Stuff', that's it.

Despite the heroic efforts of White Dee and the rest of Benefits Street, they're no match for the professionals. Literally professionals, as in all the living dead making a comfortable middle class living off of jobs with titles like Eco Justice Gay Cycling Coordinator. Lump together the salary, gold plated pension and other benefits and it's no wonder they've put aside their petty differences - and principles - to come together and defend their fundamental human right to keep their hands in the public's pocket.

Consider their twin kings aka the Two Chrises. On the right, sort of, there's Chris Patton, last elected in 1987 (and de-elected in 1992), but you can't keep a bad man down and so he's been binging at the trough ever since. From the People's Party, there's Chris Smith, Islington-based theatre aficionado and so therefore the obvious choice to run the Environment Agency.

Tory Chris's stint with the BBC's Board of Governance will best be remembered for the complete collapse of anything resembling actual governance, even to the point of people leaving with massive payoffs and no record of who authorised them. Meanwhile, Labour Chris sunk Somerset. Then again, who cares? The FSA is all about having the right attitudes, actual achievement is purely optional.

Say what you like about The Smartest PM Ever, and I usually do, but at least he understands his target market. Hold up a paper hastag? Sure, why not? Actually, doing stuff would mean taking a position, making moral judgements - you know, crazy UKIP talk. If there's one thing that links Cameron, the FSA and White Dee, it's the certainty that work is for chumps.

Alternative Culture Update

I'm shocked - shocked - to find drugs involved in this incident.

Nevertheless, I am quite sure that if you don't think guys like this are the modern incarnations of Wordworth and Shelley then you're *still* a really huge raaycist!

Just Say No...

.... to liberal bullying. Why don't more people do this?

This is why I can't get excited about Levenson. Outrageous though the Levnson reforms are, it's not like our supposedly unregulated press would ever hire a lass like this even now. Just like the philosopher and the actress, they've already agreed to be the government's whore, now they're just quibbling over price.

Maybe He Was Confused About The Whole 'Fraud Squad' Thing...

Hard to believe, but the Nigel Evans Show wasn't the strangest recent case involving Lancashire Police and a gay dude.
In an interview with his local paper, [Richard Kennedy] said: 'I heard a group of men shouting homophobic abuse at me. 'The next thing I know I was punched in the back of the head. I was violently assaulted - all because of my sexuality. 'I was covered in blood and had my face stamped on, causing my teeth to go into my gums. I might need surgery to amend the damage done. It’s absolutely disgraceful to violently attack someone because of who they are.' Kennedy went on: 'From all of this, all I want is awareness...I want people to see what can happen if you are as stupid as me to be alone on a night out'.
Yes, indeed, a fairly typical case of homophobic violence - which is to say, a hoax.
But today the teenager, who studies Contemporary Theatre and Performance at the University of Central Lancashire, admitted he made it all up.
Oh, my!

It takes more than being exposed as a Big Fat Liar to hash his mellow though:
After being shown CCTV of him tripping and falling, face-first, onto the pavement, Kennedy accepted that the 'utterly inhumane homophobic attack' he had talked about actually never happened.
Much as Bernie Madoff accepted that his bookkeeping wasn't all it could be, no doubt. Then again, who can blame him for his arrogance? It's not like he was going to face any consequences, was it?
Detective Inspector Paddy O’Neill said:... 'Having had oversight of the investigation... I accept his report was made in good faith.'
Say what?

This wasn't a guy who woke up with a bad case of UDI (Unidentified Drinking Injury) and decided to spin a heroic tale about it in the SU bar afterwards. He made an official complaint, complete with a graphic tale of violence, and triggered a police investigation. That's the very definition of wasting police time.

More to the point, was his tale of crazed homophobes meant to encourage community cohesion and mutual respect? Hell, no. In so far as it was a classic attempt to smear, mostly Christian, social conservatives it was what the left used to call 'Hate Speech', until approximately two seconds ago.

All of which is to return to the usual point: stop giving leftists the benefit of the doubt. This case isn't about noble intentions gone wrong, it was a set up right from the off and now everyone can see how corrupt the left is.

The Snake Is Eating Itself

Uh oh.... it's a showdown in Shakedown City.

This trough ain't big enough for the both of them.

Actually, my sympathies are with Mr C, and not only because, if he's like 90% of footballers, his ego probably is big enough to think he should be King of the World. There's also that other thing: Lord who?

At least Campbell really did climb to the top of his profession. What did m'lud do exactly?

I mean, aside from industrial-scale race-hustling, obviously.

Yeah, About That 'Nigel Farage Affair' Thing....

Hey, and I thought the usual suspects wanted us to be more mature, sophisticated and continental about these things....

Has anyone heard from Hugh Grant and Steve Coogan yet?

Honestly, it's like Lord Levenson never existed. Meanwhile, here are three things the MSM won't be asking:

i/ Bearing in mind that the UKIP vs the legacy parties stand off is meant to be a battle between a bunch of jovial morons and the sophisticated intellectuals of the political classes, it's noticeable which side is making substantive points and which is acting like a cut-price version of the News of the World, frantically searching through bins to try and find something incriminating.

ii/ What exactly is the overlap between all those feminists outrageously outraged by Godfrey 'Sluts' Bloom and the people right now claiming that the only possible reason an attractive women could hold a senior position in UKIP is that she's banging the boss?

iii/ How does this sudden love for traditional values square with the whole gay marriage thing? Eighteen months ago anyone talking about the sanctity of marriage was a crazed bigot who wanted to lynch interior designers, now the MSM is going all misty-eyed about the state of Holy Matrimony.

Hey, it's not just the obvious hypocrisy, this is a perfect insight into the essential corruption of Cameronism. When Cameron and the rest of his elitist pals are sneering at traditional values, that's proof of their sophistication, but they still expect everyone else to stay on the plantation. That's why they complain endlessly about welfare fraud and tax avoidance even as they use taxpayer-funded quangos as a full employment service for their mates.

Smart Vs Stupid: Which Is Better?

MSM Status: Genius

MSM Status: Moron

There's a serious point here - apart from 'never trust the MSM's opinion on anything' - our governing class's definition of genius is entirely self-serving to the point of tautology. Hunt is the perfect embodiment of the post-modern, triangulating, 'knows all 58 genders options in facebook' political luvvie. Of course his fellow passengers on the gravy train have hailed his brilliance . You'd get more sense asking Premiership footballers if they think Wayne Rooney is overpaid.

And that's how Britain ended up with a supposed genius who doesn't understand how contracts work. These people deal in attitudes not actual policies. No wonder they're so completely thrown by Putin. Doesn't that guy know he's wrecking his chances of getting a sympathetic profile in the Guardian?

It says a lot about where British politics is at that our ruling class are baffled by a politician who means what he says. Meanwhile, in so far as the dumb housewife from the snowy wasteland called it all perfectly, the question has to be asked: who are the insular, inbred hicks now, huh?

Conspiracy Nuts FTW!

As I understand it, the latest iteration of Harriet Harperson's position is that she was working for the NCCL when they were coordinating with a paedophile group but she somehow missed the open references to legalising child abuse: in other words, she wasn't at the meeting, she was with the meeting.

To which all I can say is 'how about that paedo panic, huh'?

Yes, normal caveats apply. Spending £14 bazillion to put Basil Brush on trial for supposedly touching someone's bottom in 1974 is insane, but the people Harperson was working with were the real deal.

Ditto, while 'road to Damascus' conversions do happen, they do require you to admit that you were on the way there in the first place, rather than claim you were just taking the scenic route to Cairo.

As it is, for all Harperson might claim she didn't know nuffink guv, there is a common thread between what the NCCL believed back then, and what the same people believe right now. That's why this is such a key issue for conservatives, not just because the harassment and interdiction of paedophiles is the right thing to do (though it is) or because it's a winning issue politically (also true) but because it's a perfect insight into the left's MO.

Round around 1990 the left suddenly decided to start claiming that they totally hated paedos too, but they just wanted to fine tune things. They tried to claim they were Barnes Wallace to our Bomber Harris but the trouble was the more time went by without any actual dams being busted, the more obvious it was that these guys were all a bit Neville Chamberlain.

The rhetoric might have changed but the theme was still the same: rigid opposition to anything common sense would suggest as a way to make life harder for paedophiles. Consider this: for all the supposed excesses of the 'paedo panic' these guys can never name a case where they think the law was excessively savage to a bona fide, actual predator. It's always some guy who should never have been convicted anyway. Meanwhile, us knuckle-dragging rightists can name a barrel load of case where savages were let loose to strike again - like this:
Michael Clark, 40, was on the Sex Offenders Register and subject to official checks. But he was able to move into a city of his choosing where neighbours did not know his past.
The council considered him too dangerous to live there, but had to house him after being warned of legal action for breaching his human rights as a homeless person.
If the left could ever show as direct a connection between CO2 and climate change as the right can show between elitist liberals and murder, every conservative in the country would be biking to work. Meanwhile, the left regards a few dead bodies as the cost of doing business, but pouts and whines about 'smears' when anyone calls them out on it.

Reality Still Has The Casting Vote

Bad as events are in Somerset, at least it's not happening in Bengal or Sligo in the 19th Century. If it had, lefties would still be writing books, plays and operas about the eviiiillll English Lord who let people's houses get flooded just so he could make the place nice for the birdies.

They should have told Lord Smith that the birds voted conservative. He'd have been hunting them down himself with a shotgun.

As it is the main question is what will happen first: the floods going down or the BBC finding a way to call Smith a right-winger. On the plus side, while Somerset is flooded, The Dave's credibility has been sunk too.

We're back to the two foundational myths of Daveism. We're told that he is a brilliant manager and a master politician. Now he's facing a political crisis caused in large part by letting a government agency go bananas, and not just through indolence but also as a matter of policy. The Cameroonatics pride themselves on their post-ideological, post-modern, ironic detachment. People with actrual convictions were dismissed as dullsville bores and accused of 'banging on' about stuff. Why bring everyone down and hash their mellow by arguing over actual policy?

That's how we ended up with a conservative PM happy to preside over a government agency headed by an Islington liberal and staffed entirely by ecoloons (but at least we've found one context where liberals think diversity is overrated).

It turns out that ideas still matter, after all. Culture War matters. Allowing econuts to take over a government agency turns out to have been a disaster. Lives have been lost and homes wrecked as a result of allowing Metropolitan liberals to use a large part of England as a giant econut version of Sim City. If the Tories don't stand against that, in what sense are they conservative?

Reminder: Liberal Multi-Culturalism Is (Still) A Fraud

All true, and doncha just know that this guy was one of them that waxes lyrical about how vibrant and exciting these Third World hell holes are. So much more lifey than dullsville Britain!

But only if you don't have to deal with the realities of life in an Islamicaly-challenged hole. Obviously.

In other words, these guys love of multiculuralism rests on the idea that the rest of the world is just a more exotic version of Guildford. They're not actually open to other cultures at all, they're open to their own culture but in a different accent. Meanwhile, us judgemental right wing nuts at least give foreigners the courtesy of dealing with them on their own terms, instead of treating them like Guardian readers with a taste for flamboyant rhetoric.

It remind me of one of those 'Commencement Addresses' that was bouncing round the internet a few years ago, the one where the speakers tells the kids 'of course your parents are boring, they didn't used to be that way, but then they had to take care of you'. Britain is boring too, and that's why we have things like have actual ambulances.

Just In Case You Ever Though PC Was Class War By Other Means...

How very dare a mere serf not treat the death of the Greatest Man Ever with the correct degree of respect!

Clearly they need a lesson in decorum from their betters!

I guess we'll have to file this under 'If Nigel Farage Had Done This...'

Fictional Character Threatened By Fictional Problem

Bad news everyone: a guy who dresses up and reads stuff off a script is warning about the dangers of ManBearPig.

 I got nuffink!

Seriously, this is the perfect example of Ann Coulter's line that the left's biggest advantage is their resistance to parody. How can you satirise this? It's like they've sucked all the stupid out of the room.

These are the guys who call the right ignorant morons but I don't notice any of us warning that if green taxes aren't cut, Santa won't be able to heat his house properly and he'll die of hypothermia... except that actually happens to people, unlike Gerbil Worming which, much like Santa on Christmas Eve, covers the whole planet without leaving a single trace of its existence.

It's The Future In HD

Yes, indeed, price hikes in fuel are all down to greedy capitalist pig dogs.

Ditto, poverty in retirement is all down to those meany insurance companies.

Likewise, the cost of legal advice is.... No, wait, it turns out that lawyers are hard working altruists and the government should just air drop blank cheques over Lincoln's Inn Fields until Hell freezes over. Still, that's obviously one of those cases where we just don't understand the nuance.

For every other line of business though, it's all aboard the John Galt Express to Caracas:
"I want a Sony plasma television for the house," said Amanda Lisboa, 34, a business administrator who waited seven hours outside a Caracas Daka store, similar to Best Buy. "It's going to be so cheap!"
What could possibly go wrong?

Just Saying...

Hey, wasn't it just a month ago that liberals were outrageously outraged that anyone could criticise a veteran?

BSc MONA Studies

Is this not the most perfect example of modern policing you've ever seen?

How about a bit less emphasis on 'feeling safe' and more on actually being safe? But no, wandering wound with a guy in a blue body suit is one thing, but actually releasing useful information is a little.... controversial.

Sauce For The Goose...

Don't be shocked, but the people who are freaked out by the idea that a country GP might want to own a target pistol think maniacs with guns are just loveable jack-the-lads.

Personally, I loved the bit where he claimed the family had no experience of the legal process.

Yeah, I'll bet.

Not that it isn't always fun to see a member of the predator class whine about how they've lost their faith in the legal system, but I'm noticing a certain double standard here. The Scumbag In Question talks a lot about the truth, but never gets around to dealing with any actual 'facts'. You have to look elsewhere to see what they're really pushing:
In the months after his death Mr Duggan's family, along with the police and MPs, received an anonymous letter claiming Mr Duggan had been set up. Mr Underwood said: "That letter alleged that a Trident officer had hatched a plan with an informant to arrange for Mark Duggan to pick up the gun from Kevin Hutchinson-Foster. "The allegation was that the informant said he could persuade Mark Duggan to pick up the gun and then the police could catch him. "What the letter goes on to suggest was that that would lead to Mr Duggan being shot dead as anything less than doing that would reveal the identity of the informant."
He was set up by being forced to carry a illegal fire arm round with him. Hey, it could happen to anyone. Who hasn't been visiting a friend and had them say 'if you're going down town, can you drop this uzi off for me'?

Still, since the Guardian is apparently taking seriously anonymous letters alleging huge conspiracies (which may or may not have copied in Messers Sue, Grabbit & Runne), I guess that means they can't really dispute intelligence reports so specific they even named the firearms supplier?

I mean, that is kind of the issue here: the utterly demented nature of the modern left, which wants us to believe any old nonsense put out there by violent thugs but disregard anything from anyone who might conceivably vote conservative.

Meanwhile, in related news, no one from this family has yet been offered a column in the Guardian.

Joe McCarthy Was Right

Like the Great Man said, if it was just stupidity, wouldn't random chance mean that these errors wouldn't always favour exactly the same cause?

Mind you, considering the demographic involved, 2000 non-existent people appearing from nowhere is standard practice. They're probably all on the electoral roll in Bradford.

They Can Give It Out....

Surely everyone now knows that member of thr Inner Party are not to be quizzed as though they were commoners?

No doubt this will be the next bogus scandal after the Twitter Wars. Meanwhile, don't hold your breath waiting to find out how many times during his tenure the BBC ran shows featuring alleged 'consumer' journalists ambushing small businessmen?

Liberal Outrage: You Can't Say That (But They Can)

Don't be shocked, but it turns out that our would-be Twitter Police are graduates of the Al Gore School of Leading By Example. Apparently, threats of sexual multilation and AIDS gags count as cutting edge humour, provided you're really in with the in crowd.

They're not even hiding it any more, they really are arguing that they can say things other people can't 'cause they're, like, licenced media people.

All of which makes this call for civility halfway between the Duke of Wellington complaining that railways will allow the working class to move around and a consortium of buggy whip makers calling for a clampdown on the anarchic world of automobile manufacturing.

It's the perfect example of how liberalism has gobbled up socialism. Here we have the party of the left giving house room to a bunch of absurdly well-connected members of the New Class complaining that they let anyone on the 'net these days.

It's the perfect example of the fraud of political correctness. PC was always about giving soi dissant socialists an alibi for sneering at the lower orders. Keeping up with the absurd PC euphemism d'jour is just the left's version of knowing which knife to use for the fish course. Being unconcerned about the impact of open borders on public services is their equivalent of the old aristocracy professing to know nothing about 'trade', such proletarian matters are simply beneath them, doncha'know?

For proof of all this, consider the Twitter Wars Bandwagon Jumper In Chief: Stella Creasy. She claims to be worried, shocked, appalled and worried again about fellow media luvvies facing rape threats on Twitter, but what happened when girls in Rochdale were facing real rapes? The Criminal Protection Service and the Police buried these cases and where was Stella? Chaining herself to the railings, or happy to climb aboard the Good Ship Diden C Nuffinkguv? Need you ask?

Stella's the fearless fighter against fantasy rapes, who doesn't want to know about real ones. Truly, she is a heroine for our times.

Who Could Have Seen This Coming?

Well, apart from absolutely everyone.

Yes, indeed: it turns out that the law which was drafted to prevent this happening turns out not to prevent this happening. Or, to put it another way, us conspiracy nuts were right and the Nu Tory Party's fanboys in the MSM were either lying or insanely gullible.

Like I keep saying, every statement by David Cameron comes with a sell by date. This law was totes not going to impose on religious freedom, but that was then, and this is now, so no doubt we all need to 'move on'.

Another Memeber of the Tiny Minority

Like I keep saying, if it's the right that's a hot bed of extremism, how come it's always the left that gets caught hiring guys like this?

On the plus side, he's 'reformed' - but he can't seem to say exactly what differentiates him from the jihadists save for some quibbling about methodology. and timescales.

Mental case of No Appearance?

Hey, as the left always say, I'm just 'asking questions'.

Besides, I always like the way the left will effortlessly throw one lot of baby seals overboard as soon as some group higher up the Victimhood Scale is threatened. The left has spent years sneering at anyone crude enough to suggest that an off-meds schizo with a machete could possibly be 'dangerous'. Now suddenly it turns out that crazy is as crazy does. Loons, hey?

Don't ask what type of nut she was, or what particular form of madness could possibly have driven her to do what she did. The offender was nuts, hence she did nutty things, that's all you need to know.

Of course, this is all guesswork, but I can't help noticing we also have a sighting of the rare, yet increasingly common, VONA too. You have to google the original reports to find out that the victim was not, in fact, Somalian.

I Love It When A Plan Comes Together

Yeah, yeah, all true: it is kind of sleazy the way the Usual Suspects are anxious to blame it all on 'The Government' without telling us which government, but how much sympathy can you have with The Dave?

Not only did The World's Smartest Man leave these people in place, but he actually made that one of his key selling points. The Dave explicitly marketed himself as a post-ideological PM, throwing those suburban squares with all their talk of 'culture war' under the bus, in favour of canapés with fellow members of the political class like the CQC.

Now it turns out that liberal political hacks used their positions to try and push the left's narrative even to point of putting innocent lives at risk and the Dear Leader claims to be shocked - shocked - to find you can't trust lefty fanatics. But he still can't bring himself to denounce them with half the passion he uses to condem anyone who might vote UKIP.

Liberals Ask Why Was No Action Taken Against No One In Particular

There is no greater barometer of the complete uselessness of Britain's Professional Conservatives than that the left has decided to blame the Woolwich attack on the Security Services for not stopping the killers.

It's as if they're so sure of their hegemonic control of the culture that they think they can push any old rubbish.

What exactly do liberals think should have been done? They've spent years as Arthur Dent lying down in front of the bulldozer, loudly insisting that this whole 'terrorism' thing is just a few high-spirited Jihad-the-Lads, everything's fine and anyone who says anything different is some kind of extremist nut.

More to the point, even while they explain that they totally would have done, like, something different, they can't even bring themselves to say who they would have done it to.

When You've Lost Pompous. Whiny, Hysterics, You've Lost....

Not very much really.

There may be universes where this would be a problem...but this isn't one of them.

It's A Party That *Looks* Like Britain, You're Not Meant To Actually Do Stuff

This is too perfect: the Hitler Spotter In Chief is caught up in a race row.

Mind you, I don't think the guy in question is the sharpest tool in the box:
Shaun Bailey has been moved to a 'non-position' in the Cabinet Office after losing his job as the Prime Minister's special adviser for youth and crime before a number of former public school pupils were appointed, it has been reported.
Ehhh.... I don't think he's moved to a non-job. What's his problem anyway? He's complaining about spending his days on trivial nonsense with no chance of actually achieving anything?

Hey, if it's good enough for The Dave....

It gets better:
Tory MP Therese Coffey revealed she was encouraging the Prime Minister to undergo so-called ‘unconscious bias’ training in a bid to help make both the Government and the Conservative Party more diverse.
Orwell was too optimistic: now we have an alleged conservative arguing that even if you haven't committed any Thought Crimes, that just means you're unconsciously committing Thought Crime.

Hey, that sounds strangely familiar. Oh yeah, here it is:
Door Gunner: Git some! Git some! Git some, yeah, yeah, yeah! Anyone who runs, is a VC. Anyone who stands still, is a well-disciplined VC!
If only there was training for 'unconscious liberalism'?
