The Ever-Evolving Gospel According To The Reverend Dale

Personally, I'm thinking Iain Dale has been kind of hard on David Laws:
Sometimes, you just hold your head in your hands and think 'how on earth did people like this get through the candidate selection procedure?'....

[David Cameron's] called Laws to account and I hope any Conservative does the same if they encounter people in the Government who hold similar lawless, and profoundly dishonest views. They should be chucked out of Parliament for good - not just suspended.
Oops. My mistake. He was actually writing about Philip Lardner, who had dared to question the gay agenda.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail readers were treated to the sight of the Reverend Dale giving David Outlaws the written equivalent of a full Lewinsky.

So, for those of you keeping score at home, this means that if you think the question of who an elderly grandmother, running a B&B half way up a mountain in Mid-Wales, rents a room to is purely a private matter, you, sir, are worse than Hitler! On the other hand, if you think the question of who an MP uses public money to rent a room from is a not a private matter, then you, sir, are also worse than Hitler!

The good news is that if only we can trick Laws into trying to rent a room off an elderly Christian lady, the whole gay rights movement might implode into some kind of logical death spiral.

'Top Gear' Even Cooler Than We Suspected

It's all about having the right enemies. Good quote too from Benny Boy. Very..... moderate.

I'm Just Glad Sir Freddie Isn't Here To See This...

Time for the band to start up on the gay pride anthem, and its stirring opening lines:
I gotta be me
I gotta be free
You'll get busted
If you disagree
Yes, indeed. The usual suspects are shocked - shocked! - that anyone could exploit someone's death to make a wider point. Well, you know, except for....

As befits cutting edge rebels sticking it to The Man, they've decided to whine like singed cats and set the PCC on the author concerned.

It's enough to make you nostalgic for the stoic machismo of Freddy Mercury.

Still, if bringing lifestyle into it is so controversial, how come these folks never complained about the eighty bazillion adverts which not so subtly suggested any guy over 30 who liked the odd hamburger was just asking for a heart attack (and never mind those right-wing loons who suggested genes were the biggest component in heart disease). And as for those fags cigarettes...

Hey, there's no 'hate the sin, love the sinner' where the health nazis are concerned. They aren't shy about depicting smokers, drinkers and the like as bad parents, slobs and the general untermensch. It's only when the gay lifestyle comes into the crosshairs that the finger-waggers get struck dumb.

If Stephen Gately was a young, up and coming accountant whose usual evening meal was a McD's takeout chowed down while working late in the office, he too would have been asking for it, but wondering, for example, whether it's such a good idea to regularly use enough speed to have sleeping beauty running marathons? Outrageous!

But that's the point: it's precisely because the supposed offence is so puny that the usual suspects are so determined to make it this century's holocaust. The whole objective of these howler monkey flash mobs is to make dissent from PC orthodoxy too hot to handle. Apparently, the gay agenda is such a well-worked out set of policy prescriptions, no one's allowed to talk about it.

Hey, maybe the lass in question could claim she was just offering a 'critical perspective on gay culture'? But no, the rules of the game are simple: guys dressing as priests and inserting crucifixes in each other's backsides is daring political commentary, but asking just what 'innovate, don't assimilate' actually means is The Hayte, and they'll scream and scream until they make themselves sick.

Moderates!

Rod Liddle with the latest from the people the Nu Tories are desperate to reach out to:
Late last week the gay rights organisation Stonewall released the shortlist for its prestigious and sought-after bigot of the year award...

Hot favourite for the title, for example, is the Bishop of Winchester. He is nominated for having spoken in a House of Lords debate about freedom of speech, during which he said that people “should be allowed to question the current political orthodoxy” that sexual orientation is a fixed characteristic, like race.

He didn’t actually say he would agree with people if they said that, just that they ought to be allowed to say it without being arrested. Come to think of it, that really is what we fought a war for — and the polar opposite of bigotry
Free clue for the pretendey-cons: not being on good terms with lunatics is a good thing.

They Won't Respect You In The Morning

Heh. The Tories just got through with their latest attempt at Pink grovelling outreach and it's all gone horribly wrong. The members failed to show enough dhimmitude to troughing weasel Alan Duncan and that proves they're worse than Hitler. Or even the Pope.

Who'd have thunk it, hey?

It's noticeable that not one of his defenders can actually come up a positive argument in his favour. The bottom line - as it were - is that Duncan is a sleaze, a low-life and an arrogant weasel and the Pink Wedge has just outed itself. They're not fighting for 'equality', they're fighting for the right to behave like pigs with impunity.

Kenny Everett Is Dead!

Say what you like about Cameron, but at least he's clamped down on those evil extremists!

Of course, Al was only joking about killing people who disagree with his views. Which is a perfectly normal thing to do, and especially for someone who wants to run the country.

As ever, let's check the scorecard here: talking about murdering political opponents is satire, but writing critical letters, discussing adoption policy or handing out leaflets? Now, that's serious!

These guys: they're all about the equality.

True, this case hardly qualifies as a real threat, but it's a hell of a lot closer to a threat than some guy handing out leaflets. Hey, I'm a free speech maximalist, so I say 'have at it'! These loonies are entitled to joke about murdering their opponents, and we're entitled to ask what it says about their ideology that they think homicidal fantasies are the height of hilarity.

See, this is why 'respectable conservatism' is a bust. Not just because the people lecturing the rest of us keep outing themselves as nasty twerps, but more profoundly because it implies conservatives can and should reach some kind of Munich-style détente with people who are fundamentally unappeasable.

Duncan, Perez Hilton and the rest of these loons aren't advancing an argument or making a point. They're just trying to shout down any dissenting voices. They're nasty, thuggish morons and no conservative worthy of the name should seek the respect of these low-lifes.

National Curriculum Still Not Full Enough

In so far as teachers are always claiming to be overworked, it's funny how there's always time for this stuff:
Parents face possible court action for withdrawing their children from lessons on gay and lesbian history.

More than 30 pupils were pulled out of a week of teaching at a primary school which included books about homosexual partnerships.
Don't be shocked, but it tends to a little more than this for liberals to act normally:
From September 2001 to February this year, the court was told, the older daughter, Emma, had attended only 55 out of 190 school registrations - a 29% record.

Her younger sister attended 64 of 190 school sessions - a 34% attendance rate.
Never mind what liberals are doing to the world - consider what they're doing to the English language:
A spokesman for Waltham Forest Council said: ‘As part of the borough’s policy of promoting tolerance in our schools, children are taught that everyone in our society is of equal value.
Everyone's of equal value but only some are equal enough to be given public money and classroom time to indoctrinate the kids, plus if you object you're some kind of fascist, and they'll use the power of the state to persecute you.

I'd let all this go except this case neatly undercuts two of the more absurd principles of Cameronism.

No one's benefited more from Cameron's obsession with 'reaching out' to minority groups than the special people. The Dave did all but announce plans to make Kylie's birthday a bank holiday, all in the belief that these people were just ready to jump onboard just as soon as those horrible socio-cons were exorcised. Hey, how's that worked out?

Well, here's a brutal piece of governmental thuggery being carried out on their behalf, so why aren't the usual suspects out there chanting 'Not In My Name'? Usual disclaimer applies - no one's expecting crimpers to throw down their tongs and rush out into the street, but how about the folks who are always raging about the Pope? More specifically, how about the pretendey-cons? Doesn't conservatism have something to say about schools being hijacked by ideologically driven nuts and used to undermine parents? Anything at all?

Ditto, the other Deep Thought of (or possibly rationalisation for) Cameronism, namely the idea that everything else is just a distraction from winning seats in the house. Suppose the Tories do win a majority? What then? This case is a glimpse of the future.

The law already allows parents to withdraw their children from religious and sex education, but the school decided to get round it by classifying these lessons - gay penguins and all - as history. That's a lesson right there. The Tories can do whatever they want in Westminister, but out in the country they're going to run up against people like this sticking two fingers up to the clearly expressed will of Parliament.

The choices for the Tories are to embrace full-on Cameronism and accept, at best, Parliament engaging in an endless game of Whack-A-Mole to try and plug each and every loophole that allows teachers to push their own loopy agenda or, alternatively, to fight the culture war. After all, why should activist loonies be able to use public money to pursue their own nutbunny agenda? More to the point, how did conservatism get so beat down that this is even an issue?

Well, I can't be sure about the answer to that last question, but I'm guessing the answer involves years of proto-Cameronesque triangulation. Well, enough already. Conservatives can either have the Tories in power but not in office, passing ineffectual legislation for the activists to samba around, or they take these loonies on. There is no third way.
