Hmm, there seems to be two competing theories - an attack on the landowner, or an anti-Christian thing.
I rather lean towards the former, since there must be more 'mainstream' Christian symbols to go for. Anyway, if not, they can always plead ignorance if caught. After all, if it's good enough for Charlie Gilmour vs the Cenotaph...
Or it could, of course, simply be mindless vandalism?
